Service Description

Suitable for Transmasculine and Non Binary clients approaching their Top surgery date. There are a number of pain patterns and pathologies which are prevalent within Transmasc and Non Binary patients due to interactions between Gender Dysphoria, trauma and binding. Following top surgery, these can increase pain levels and interact with the subsequent tensions you may feel in your body. In our treatment we will focus on preparing your body ahead of its surgery and journey so as to reduce down pain levels and complications in the recovery period. By assessing and treating these issues pre-surgery, we can affect pain levels positively. Using my specialism in Transgender clients and Advanced Clinical Massage Therapy qualification, this treatment includes the following: • LGBTQ+ friendly and trauma informed consultation to assess current musculoskeletal issues and subsequent pain patterns in body. For example, you may be experiencing tingling or numbness in an arm, brought about through stress and binding. • Range of Movement and Orthopaedic testing for indicators of prevalent pathologies which could later hinder recovery. These include but are not limited to Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel, Cubital Tunnel, Pec Minor Syndrome, Costochondritis. • 60 minute Advanced Clinical Massage Treatment targeting these areas. • Based on the above consultation, testing and palpation; bespoke advice on stretching and aftercare for the lead up to your surgery. • Additional email sent to you recapping on the above for your reference.
